Noya is delighted to welcome Andrew Clare, a deeply experienced technology and engineering leader, as the newest member of its Board of Directors. Clare brings with him extensive experience leading complex projects and large teams, including as the lead program manager for the Model X at Tesla. He currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer of robotics and autonomous driving technology company Nuro, and earned his BS, MS, and PhD from MIT.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Andrew to our board. He brings a deep understanding of complex, capital-intensive engineering projects with long timelines — and the required engineering rigor to achieve them,” said Josh Santos, CEO of Noya. “This decision was made with great care. After evaluating many candidates, we’re confident that Andrew has the technical and operational management capabilities necessary to help us accelerate our technology’s positive impact in the world in the near term.”
Clare’s perspective will complement the expertise of existing board members, and Noya investors, Fred Wilson of Union Square Ventures and Sophie Bakalar of Collaborative Fund. “I’m excited and proud to join Noya’s board, and I have the utmost confidence the team will continue to contribute to the carbon removal market’s rapid — and responsible — growth,” said Clare. “I look forward to working closely with Josh, Daniel, and the team as they scale up their technology and deliver on their incredible mission: accelerating the world’s transition to carbon negativity.”
“Andrew is a fantastic addition to the Noya board. His proven leadership in complex engineering and operations is perfectly suited to help accelerate Noya’s ambitions,” shared Fred Wilson of USV. Sophie Bakalar of Collab added, “I’m excited to work alongside Andrew as we advise Noya's talented team in bringing their Direct Air Capture technology to gigaton-scale."
The shared history of Santos and Clare, both MIT and Tesla alumni, sets a foundation for strategic alignment from the outset. As Noya embarks on the next phase of its journey, the team is especially proud of its ability to continue attracting world-class talent across all functions and levels. They couldn’t be more excited about accelerating the path toward their first commercial demonstration with Andrew on the team.
Founded in 2020 by CEO Josh Santos and CTO Daniel Cavero, Noya develops and deploys flexible Direct Air Capture technology using abundant and sustainable materials to remove excess atmospheric carbon dioxide and restore our planet’s balance. The team is working toward having a gigaton-scale positive impact through the deployment of its technology.
